The Achas Beta table
| Group | Letters |
|---|---|
| 1 | א – ח – ס |
| 2 | ב – ט – ע |
| 3 | ג – י – פ |
| 4 | ד – כ – צ |
| 5 | ה – ל – ק |
| 6 | ו – מ – ר |
| 7 | ז – נ – ש – ת |
How it works
- The triads: Aleph–Chet–Samech, Bet–Tet–Ayin, Gimel–Yod–Peh, Dalet–Kaf–Tzadi, Heh–Lamed–Kuf, Vav–Mem–Resh, and the last group Zayin–Nun–Shin–Tav.
- Within each triad the letters are seven places apart in the alphabet.
- Tav joins the last group, as in the Talmud's wording "umerzan shat" (Shabbat 104a).
- Because each letter has several alternatives, one word has many readings; the calculator shows all options per letter.
Sources
